QUESTIONS POSED ON THE BROADCAST:
- Do we consciously determine to have a time of rest?
- Are we comfortable in quietness?
- Do we need constant stimulation?
- Do we sit down to eat dinner together with out distractions?
- Do we placate our children with entertainment?
- Do we require a stimulus of some kind to zone out?
- Do we need some kind of sound or stimulus to be comfortable?
- Are we bored with quiet activities?
- How often, or do we ever shut off all electronics?
- Are we panicked if we are without our cellphone?
- Do we lose hours gaming, watching You tube, reading social media?
- Is our cellphone one of the first things we reach for in the morning and one of the last things we’re looking at in the evening?
- Do we shut off or put away our cellphone when visiting with a friend, colleague, kids or people in general?
- Do our children need to be entertained by electronics while traveling in the car, waiting for appointments etc.?
- If we go out to eat are all electronics put away and our full attention is on each other?
- Is our primary contact with people (friends, love-ones etc.) done verbally/face to face/in person OR is it through some form of electronic media?
- Could our cellphone be considered an appendage rather than a tool?
- Do we pause before we make decisions and commitments, when we don’t know the full effort or extent of what we are committing to?
- Do we feel guilty or uncomfortable if we’re not busy?
- Do we feel content?
- Do we feel we have to be “on all the time”?
- Do we believe our value is seen in what we do, what we accomplish or in how well we can multitask?
- Are we afraid of what will happen if our children are not kept busy and active all the time?
- Can we picture what it would feel like if all sources of electronics, electricity and power were off for an extended period of time?
- Does the very thought of question 24 fill us with anxiety, panic, fear or relief?
